Apple has announced its Apple TV+ will be available in the fall, the newest version of its TV app. Apple’s new streaming service will directly compete with Netflix and Disney.
Hollywood stars Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Momoa, Alfre Woodward, and Steve Carrell were on the Apple stage to debut and promote exclusive series. Blockbuster filmmakers M. Night Shyamalan and Steven Spielberg were on hand to promote Apple’s new original television projects. Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey wrapped up the event by announcing she is working on two documentaries that focus on mental health.
“They’re in a billion pockets, y’all.” Winfrey stated at the event.
All original streaming Apple content will be on-demand and can be watched online or downloaded for viewing offline later. There will not be any advertisements.
The service will launch sometime during the fall of 2019 in over 100 countries.
Apple has also revealed its Apple News plus service which has over 300 magazines including the New Yorker, Esquire, The Atlantic, National Geographic, Men’s Health, and Vogue.
