Amazon Employees Call for Climate Change

The Amazon Employees for Climate Justice wrote an open letter to Jeff Bezos requesting the company adopt a company-wide climate plan. The group wants Amazon to move completely away from fossil fuels and prioritize climate initiatives.

The letter stated, “ In our mission to become 'Earth’s most customer-centric company,’ we believe our climate impact must be a top consideration in everything we do. We have the power to shift entire industries, inspire global action on climate, and lead on the issue of our lifetimes.”

Amazon Employees Demand Climate Change Initiatives

The employee group asked Amazon to set time guidelines for greenhouse gas emissions to be cut in 1/2 by 2030. The Amazon Board of Directors says that Amazon is already addressing the plan and doing what the employees are requesting.
